Brian M. Fraley, owner of Fraley Construction Marketing, will once again serve as a judge for the Construction Media Alliance (CMA) Annual Editorial & Marketing Awards. Trade publications, manufacturers, and marketing agencies and consultants will submit their best work from 2017.
Categories for Editorial will include: Best Editorial Column, Best Single Issue, Best Website, Best Feature, Best Series, and the Tudor Van Hampton Award for Editorial Excellence. Marketing categories will cover Best Press Kit, Best Ad, Best Public & Media Relations Campaign, Best Video, Best Use of Social Media, and Best Content Marketing.
“I’m thrilled to serve as a judge again this year,” said Fraley. “It’s always a great opportunity to see such inspiring work in the construction marketing and editorial space.”
This year’s competition includes a new award to memorialize the late Tudor Van Hampton, former managing editor for ENR, whom passed away in 2017 at age 39. It will require participating construction editors to provide 5 to 10 writing samples that showcase their overall editorial style and voice, and exhibit thought leadership aimed at affecting some change or greater understanding in the industry.
Fraley said: “I’m thrilled to see the creation of the Tudor Van Hampton Award for Editorial Excellence to honor a best-in-class construction editor that left us too soon. It will surely have special meaning and serve as inspiration for many deserving editors.”
The Construction Media Alliance is a volunteer-led, volunteer-based association for construction industry editors, journalists, writers, publishers, PR representatives, marketing communications professionals, social media pros and everyone in between.
